Happy New Year

2011 is almost behind us. It's time to start embracing the year ahead, 2012. This also marks the end of the holiday season which means the end of the added holiday stress. How do many cope with stress? You guessed it, by eating. I, on the other hand, do not. I always found that when I was stressed out (i.e. during an exam) I would do the opposite. I wouldn't eat. Stress makes my mind occupied on the stressor and not so much on the eating. My girlfriend on the other hand is a stress eater. I've realized that in general, and correct me if i'm wrong here ladies, that women eat more under stress but men don't. It would be interesting to see what your thoughts are on this.

It's about damn time...

I’ve decided that it’s time to do something about this extra weight. I have been yoyo-ing for a while now but enough is enough. I’m not exactly sure how I will do it just yet, but I do plan on starting next Monday, January 2, 2012. I know, most people make this their New Year’s resolution, and quite honestly, the date I chose has nothing to do with that. The reason I decided to choose that date is because the holidays will be over then. They’ll be less food in my face (which will eventually end up down my throat).

So the way I’m gonna (try) and structure this is by having a post every Monday which will include my weight that week and one weekly objective. The objective can be anything from no eating after supper to exercising more. Secondly, posts will happen as often as I can and as often that I feel that I need to share my thoughts, emotions, successes and failures.

If I ever do get any followers, I would love you to all contribute. Share your stories, comments, suggestions, questions and anything else that may come up! I want this to be a cross between a diary (I won’t call it that since i’m a guy) and a forum.
